LTE RRC is used in the control plane of the LTE-Uu interface protocol stack. The Trillium LTE RRC is a complete implementation of the protocol layer as defined in the 3GPP TS 36.331 E-UTRA Radio Resource Control (RRC) Protocol specification for the eNodeB network element. The LTE-Uu protocol stack is illustrated in the following diagram with the LTE RRC layer highlighted.
