ATCA 1GbE Bladed Compute System

Compute capacity for session management will ramp up over a number of years as user adoption of IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Next Generation Network (NGN) services expands. The bladed approach of the compute system provides significant benefits and enables a "pay as you grow" strategy, thereby minimizing up-front investment and risk.

The 1GbE ATCA compute system provides a very high capacity solution with up to 10 Dual-Core Intel Xeon Processor LV compute nodes in a 5U chassis (or 24 compute nodes in a 12U chassis). PICMG 3.1 compliant compute blades offer symmetric multiprocessing performance, providing 2MB of L2 cache and a 667MHz front side bus.

The 1GbE ATCA compute system incorporates redundant base and fabric switches that include a separate 440GX PowerPC processor to run switch management, Layer 2 switching, and optional Layer 3 routing software. The switch blade can also be configured with scalable, balanced 1GbE and 10GbE uplinks to meet surges in network traffic.

Configurable to suit specific deployment requirements, the 1GbE ATCA compute system is delivered as a fully integrated and tested unit. The platform can be packaged with a range of Trillium protocol software including SIP, Diameter, SIGTRAN, and MEGACO / H.248. Trillium Professional Services and training are also available to accelerate deployment, support internal development teams, and reduce time-to-market.
