To support multiple services on a single IP network at an acceptable level of quality, the Next Generation Network (NGN) must become "content-aware." This is achieved using deep packet inspection technology which can analyze each packet as it transits the network to determine the application type being carried. By being content-aware, the network can manage the traffic based on its specific needs, enforce service level agreements, and support billing and security as required on a per-session basis.
The Continuous Computing ATCA Traffic Management and Security System delivers very high performance deep packet inspection capabilities to allow telecom equipment manufacturers to rapidly develop and deploy content-aware platforms. The system comes in two standard configurations to support different network capacity requirements. Example applications include IP edge routers, CDMA or 3G BTS aggregation devices, femtocell aggregators, IPTV, IP Edge Devices, and WiMAX ASN gateways.
Configurable to suit specific deployment requirements, the ATCA traffic management and security system is delivered as a fully integrated and tested unit. The platform can be packaged with a wide range of Trillium protocol software including SIP, Diameter, GTP, and SRTP, amongst other protocols. Trillium Professional Services and training are also available to accelerate deployment, support internal development teams, and reduce time-to-market.
