Trillium | Telephone User Part (TUP)
Description
The Telephone User Part (TUP) portable software product provides the basic and supplementary services for the establishment, supervision and release of circuit switched network connections for telecommunications services. TUP supports analog circuits but does not support digital circuits or data transmission. TUP software supports the ITU-T and other variants of the protocol.
The TUP software provides the means to:
- Establish, maintain and release calls and connections.
- Detect and recover from errors.
Product deliverables consist of C source software, documentation, training, a warranty and technical support. The TUP software may be used by computer and communications equipment manufacturers to speed time to market, lower the cost, and reduce the risk of developing the TUP protocol for their switch, adjunct processor, service platform, test equipment or other products.

- Supports circuit management procedures including blocking, unblocking and reset
- Conforms to Trillium Advanced Portability Architecture (TAPA)

May be used with Trillium MTP Level 3, TUP Wrapper (for software fault tolerance) and MOS software products.
