Trillium | Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP)
Description
PDCP provides header compression services in the UTRAN to enable 3G networks to efficiently transmit IP packets. The functionality of the Trillium PDCP layer is as follows:
- Transfer of user data between users of PDCP services.
- Maintenance of the PDCP sequence numbers for radio bearers that are configured to support lossless SRNS Relocation or lossless DL RLC PDU size change.
- Performs header compression and decompression of the IP data streams (e.g., TCP/IP and RTP/UDP/IP headers for IPv4 and IPv6) at the transmitting and receiving entity, respectively.
- Provides the following header compression algorithms
- IP Header Compression (IPHC)
- RObust Header Compression (ROHC)
Trillium PDCP software enabled Telecom Equipment Manufaturers' of NodeB's, Radio Network Controllers, Mobile Stations, Femtocells, Femtocell Gateways, test equipment or other products to:
- Accelerate time to market
- Reduce development costs
- Reduce project risk of internally developed PDCP applications
