Flex8 cPCI Platform

Targeting the application needs of Next Generation Network (NGN) telecommunications markets, Flex8 provides telecom equipment manufacturers with an ideal, low-profile CompactPCI (cPCI) chassis solution. Designed for deployment flexibility, Flex8 is a superb platform for IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) applications such as softswitches, Call Session Control Function (CSCF), media gateway / servers, and session border controllers.

Engineered to support fully redundant PICMG 2.16 configurations, Flex8 provides system management and control support over backplane Ethernet. For non-redundant configurations, Flex8 offers a PCI host slot that enables backplane PCI cards to be controlled from a host processor.

Flex8 supports both Internet Protocol (IP) and Time Division Multiplex (TDM) network interfaces and carries signaling and user plane traffic. IP traffic is supported with the addition of one or two switches, while TDM interfaces such as T1, E1, or T3 may be terminated on dedicated line cards or digital signal processing (DSP) boards and routed within the platform over the H.110 interface.

Coupled with Continuous Computing's complete family of cPCI solutions and Trillium protocol software, Flex8 provides the fastest path from application development to deployment revenue. From IP media servers to 3G / 4G network nodes, Flex8 is the chassis of choice for deploying a wide range of high performance, scalable telecom applications.
