BERKELEY, CA – February 24, 2004 – Adax, the industry leader in high performance communications and signaling infrastructure, today announced a partnership with Continuous Computing Corporation (CCPU), the leading provider of high-availability Network Service-Ready Platform solutions, to produce a convergence layer for the Adax HDC and the ATM product families for Narrowband, Broadband and IP signaling. This joint effort was created to produce a single product that services SS7, ATM and SIGTRAN over T1/E1, OC3 and Ethernet interfaces.

Written by Adax, and jointly tested with Continuous Computing, this product provides off-the-shelf convergence and flexibility to upgrade, change or converge network interfaces without the need to retool and retrain. This Convergence layer, which supports both conventional and DFT/HA (Distributed Fault Tolerant/High Availability) for narrowband, broadband, and SIGTRAN (M2UA/M2PA/SCTP) stacks simultaneously, eliminates the need for costly software integration and allows both wireline and wireless Network Equipment Providers faster time to market, in a business climate where the demand for speed and bandwidth increases daily.

Because Adax and Continuous Computing have many customers in common, both companies took special care to ensure that the new convergence layer retains the Trillium style interfaces, users are now assured with a familiar look and feel. The Adax/CCPU convergence layer has built-in support for ETSI, ANSI and other regional SS7 variants.

“If your need is SS7, ATM, IP Signaling or convergence among all three, Adax and Continuous Computing now have the fully integrated and tested product set,” said Dr. Barry Zuckerman, Adax President and CEO. “Adax and Continuous Computing’s customers have previously relied upon Adax to provide the lower level hardware and software elements of their SS7 network, then on Continuous Computing to provide the higher level elements via its offering of single board computers and the Trillium upper layer SS7 software. It was then up to the customer to integrate the two. With this Convergence Layer, customers can now purchase from a single source and eliminate the need to integrate the two companies’ products. It’s a great value to Network Equipment Providers because it eliminates development costs, offers zero time-to-market and addresses current and upcoming SIGTRAN network requirements.”

“Our joint collaboration allows us to provide our global customers with a single elegant SS7 solution,” said Simon Waters, Vice President of Business Development for Continuous Computing. “Reducing integration time by 6 months, the convergence layer enables an optimized integration of the Trillium stacks with Adax line card solutions in an efficient manner and ultimately helps accelerate our customers time-to-market.”

The new Convergence Layer is available now from either Continuous Computing or Adax. When used with both Adax’s and Continuous Computing’s high-performance and field tested hardware and software, customers are ensured a highly robust system that is both powerful and reliable.
