Trillium Software - Protocol Stack - Source Code

Continuous Computing has released the latest Trillium "Telecommunications Network Infrastructure" poster...the fourth iteration of the popular industry reference tool and the first new version since Continuous Computing acquired the Trillium Digital Systems protocol source code business from Intel Corporation in February 2003.

Representing the most complete illustration of telecom network technology that the company has ever published, the telecom network infrastructure poster serves as an evolving "world map" for the telecommunications industry while underscoring Continuous Computing's depth and breadth of expertise in this industry. The poster illustrates the standards defined network equipment, interfaces, and underlying protocol stacks for various network architectures, including all generations of wireless (i.e. 2G, 2.5G, and 3G), VoIP, PSTN, and IMS.

As a "supplier-agnostic" resource for the industry, the telecom network infrastructure poster incorporates communication protocol technology information covering IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Wireless, Signaling System 7 (SS7), Signaling Transport (SIGTRAN), legacy networking, and more.

"Telecom technology expands at an exponential pace, and the telecom network infrastructure poster provides a comprehensive illustration of how the different network elements work together," said Garrett Choi, executive vice president and chief of staff. "The launch of the fourth-generation telecom network infrastructure poster is an important milestone in Trillium's long-standing and continuing commitment to maintain thought leadership across the telecom industry. By design, it is not intended to be a marketing piece (i.e. it does not highlight any specific attributes or functions of Trillium software), but rather a useful reference tool for system architects, engineers, and students."

The first version of the telecom network infrastructure poster was launched in 1997 when Trillium Digital Systems, Inc. was a private, independent company. Subsequent versions were developed in 1999 and 2002. Continuous Computing estimates that over 15,000 copies of the first three iterations of the telecom network infrastructure poster have been distributed. The company is anticipating strong demand for the newest version, which is available now in 36" x 24" hard copy format.
