Trillium's H.323 Solution Chosen by ShelCad Communications for Rapid Deployment of IP Phone Adapters

Trillium's H.323 Protocol Stack and Quick!Start Services Enable Seamless, Low-Cost Migration of Regular Phones to Provide Internet Telephony Services

LOS ANGELES AND ATLANTA - September 13, 2000 - Trillium Digital Systems, Inc., an Intel company and leading provider of communications software solutions, announced at VON Fall today that it has reached an agreement to provide its record-breaking high-performance H.323 IP telephony software solution to ShelCad Communications for facilitating true network convergence through the low-cost and seamless conversion of regular phones into Internet phones. Powered with Trillium's H.323 protocol stack, ShelCad is developing a cutting-edge IP adapter device called "AppearionTM" that will allow regular phones to migrate to provide Internet Telephony services without making high-cost infrastructure investments. ShelCad's Appearion can significantly reduce the costs of deploying Internet phones. Trillium's Quick!Start services, delivered by a specialized team of engineers, assisted ShelCad in integrating Trillium's products into ShelCad's product within three days, thereby providing an accelerated time-to-market advantage. ShelCad's IP adapters are versatile products that can either be incorporated into a larger system or function as a standalone card to help regular phones function as Internet phones.

"Trillium's agreement with ShelCad further strengthens our commitment to being a premier global provider of communications software," said Rich Cahalan, President and COO of Trillium Digital Systems, Inc. "Our agreement with ShelCad represents another Trillium design win for the significant Israeli telecommunications market segment and will strengthen our business relationships in the region by offering next-generation, cutting-edge communications software technologies." "We selected Trillium's solution because of its rich feature set, high performance, scalability, proven interoperability and small footprint," said Tom Curran, ShelCad's VP of Marketing and Sales.

"Trillium's H.323 stack helps position ShelCad as a leader in the emerging Internet telephony market. With a strong product roadmap and regular product enhancements and feature updates, Trillium was a solid choice."
