Trillium and Enea OSE Systems Join Forces to Accelerate Deployment of Next-Generation Network Equipment

OSE Realtime Operating System Certified as Compliant with Trillium's Broad Range of Industry-leading Communications Software Solutions

SUPERCOMM 2000, ATLANTA, GEORGIA - June 06, 2000 - Trillium Digital Systems, Inc., the leading provider of communications software solutions, and Enea OSE Systems, a technological leader for realtime operating systems, today announced that version 4.1 of the OSE Realtime Operating System (RTOS) has been certified as compliant with Trillium's broad range of communications software solutions. The Trillium-OSE technology partnership offers communications equipment manufacturers a proven integrated software solution to accelerate their development of network equipment for next-generation Internet, broadband, wireless and telephony applications and services.

Certification with Trillium's TAPA architecture enables ENEA's licensees to easily integrate OSE with Trillium's broad range of communications software solutions for the SS7, IP, H.323, MGCP, ATM, and ISDN protocols. OSE was certified as Trillium Compliant through a process that involved mapping Trillium's Systems Services Interface to the OSE RTOS, followed by an extensive round of testing and review by Trillium engineers. "Our special focus on telecommunications for over 15 years has pushed us to always offer the most advanced communications capabilities," said Ulrika Wase, Product Manager, Enea OSE Systems. "Compliance with Trillium's SSI means that our customers have access to a broad range of proven protocol software at their fingertips, so that they can concentrate more on the applications they are developing." "Trillium congratulates Enea OSE Systems on successfully completing Trillium's rigorous software certification process. We are confident that, as a result of such co-development efforts, our partners, such as Enea OSE Systems, can provide customers with leading-edge integrated systems solutions with the added benefits of accelerating their time-to-market and reducing product development timeframes," said Frank Morese, vice president - marketing, Trillium Digital Systems.

Enea OSE Systems and Trillium support fault-tolerant and high-availability (FT/HA) systems that are designed to allow recovery from hardware and software failures. OSE differs from other RTOSs by adopting message-passing as its primary method of inter-process communication. Enea OSE Systems' and Trillium's FT/HA solutions address the carrier-class reliability and availability requirements of next-generation communications equipment manufacturers. Trillium designs its industry-leading communications software using the Trillium Advanced Portability Architecture (TAPA), a set of proven architectural and coding standards that ensure that its software products are feature rich, high performance, high quality, flexible, modular, scaleable and portable. All Trillium products share these common architectural and coding standards, allowing partners whose technologies have been certified with Trillium's architecture the advantage of easily integrating and migrating between any of Trillium's multiple-technology software solutions.

Through its Partner Program, Trillium tests and certifies that a combined technology solution is properly integrated, providing confidence that customers can realize substantial time-to-market benefits and cost savings. Through the program, customers can also engage Trillium's professional services to help integrate Trillium's industry-leading communications software with their products. Customers benefit both from using these leading-edge solutions and also from using Trillium's professional services capacity so they can focus their own scarce engineering talent on value-added product differentiation.
