Trillium Achieves ISO 9001 Certification

Certification Represents Milestone in Continuous, Company-wide Quality Improvement

LOS ANGELES - February 14, 2000 - Trillium Digital Systems, Inc., the leading provider of communications software solutions, announced that both its Los Angeles, California, headquarter facility and its Vancouver, British Columbia, development center have been certified and registered as compliant to the ISO 9001 quality system requirements. Achieving ISO 9001 certification signifies that Trillium's internal processes related to the development and distribution of communications software products and services for the next-generation network infrastructure successfully meet internationally recognized quality management systems requirements.

ISO refers to the International Organization for Standardization, based in Geneva, Switzerland. Although the organization is based in Europe, countries all around the world (including the United States) are represented through its Technical Committees. ISO 9001 consists of specifications that outline practices that ensure the maintenance of product and service quality, and continuous quality improvement.

"Quality is not just a word. It is an attitude. ISO certification is a critical milestone in Trillium's overall mission to ensure that our products and services exceed our customers' expectations as they build mission-critical equipment and products for the network infrastructure," said Dave O'Brien, vice president, Customer Services & Quality, Trillium Digital Systems. "Trillium understands that our customers' success depends on the consistent and timely delivery of high-quality products and services. ISO certification, together with our ongoing program to also adapt our software development processes to meet SEI Capabilities Maturity Model standards, demonstrates our corporate commitment to and leadership in setting high quality standards in the communications software industry that complement those already established in the communications equipment industry."

Trillium Digital System, Inc. was audited and accredited by European Quality Assurance Ltd., an independent Certification Body, established to provide ISO certification services to companies engaged in a wide range of industries. EQA Ltd. is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). UKAS has signed mutual recognition agreements with the EAC and IAF, and their accreditation is recognized worldwide. EQA represents the Association of British Certification Bodies (ABCB) on BSI Technical Committee QS3. (BSI is the UK representative member to the CEN and ISO committees.) EQA has issued nearly 1000 ISO 9001/2 certificates, to organizations ranging from small startups to major corporations. For more information, please see http://www.gti.net/eqa.htm
