Trillium Creates Global Telecommunications Map to the Future

LOS ANGELES - April 07, 1997 - Trillium Digital Systems, Inc. recently unveiled its map for the global telecommunications infrastructure. The poster-size map (22x33 in, 56x84 cm) shows telecommunications applications, services, products and technologies in a colorful and concise diagram. The map is intended to help top executives, software engineers and marketing professionals chart a course for their telecommunications products and strategies.

Trillium's map displays legacy, current and future technologies for Signaling System 7 (SS7), Asychronous Transfer Mode (ATM), Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), Frame Relay, V5, Internet Protocol (IP) and X.25. There are also easy reference tables for terms, standards bodies and relevant Web sites.

Trillium's President and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Lawrence said: "Telecommunication users and manufacturers have said this map is an easy-to-use reference source that helps them navigate through the complexities of the telecommunications infrastructure. Trillium software solutions are used throughout this network by telecommunications equipment manufacturers who rely on our software solutions to build their products. The map also highlights Trillium's current and future software source code solutions that may be used in products such as switches, access devices, service platforms, operating system kernels and test equipment."

Trillium has provided its communications software source code to more than 200 companies around the world. Trillium software has become the de facto standard for ATM signaling and is widely used in SS7, Frame Relay and ISDN products.

Trillium provides the most comprehensive line of portable and integrated communications software solutions available from a single source. Mr. Lawrence said: "We will continue to develop communications software to support the increasing variety of new applications and services. Our software solutions are designed to bridge legacy, existing and emerging technologies and to provide greater interoperability and flexibility for our customers."

Continuous Computing acquired the portable software business of Trillium Digital Systems from Intel Corporation in February 2003.
