Continuous Computing, Kontron and RadiSys Increase their Support of CP-TA to Achieve Mainstream Interoperability for the ATCA Ecosystem

CP-TA Members Upgrade to Sponsor Level

BEAVERTON, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE) - March 11, 2008 - The Communications Platforms Trade Association (CP-TA) today announced that CP-TA member companies Continuous Computing, Kontron and RadiSys have upgraded their membership to the Sponsor level. The increased participation of these leading AdvancedTCA vendors demonstrates their active dedication to achieving CP-TA's vision of a mainstream market for interoperable standards-based communications platforms that enable cost-efficient communications infrastructure solutions.

"These companies are demonstrating their support for the AdvancedTCA ecosystem by upgrading their membership levels with CP-TA. Our interoperability documents will help vendors bring interoperable AdvancedTCA products to market faster, which benefits the ecosystem as a whole," said Shlomo Pri-Tal, CP-TA Chairman. "I'd like to welcome these members to the CP-TA board and look forward to the achievements we can make together."

"As a leader in AdvancedTCA, RadiSys recognizes the importance of open standards-based architecture and the benefits it brings to our customers," said Todd Etchieson, vice president of Communications Networking Product Management. "We are excited to increase our membership in CP-TA and work closely within the community to actively promote the benefits of interoperability."

"Continuous Computing has been an active member of CP-TA since its formation in 2006, and we are pleased to underscore our commitment to the organization and AdvancedTCA in general by upgrading our CP-TA membership level from Contributor to Sponsor," said Brian Wood, vice president for marketing for Continuous Computing. "As a strong advocate of open, standards-based solutions, we salute the work that CP-TA is doing to advance interoperability as well as raising industry awareness about the many benefits of leveraging the vibrant AdvancedTCA ecosystem."

"Since our first AdvancedTCA-based product releases at Kontron, the ecosystem has become stronger and we have seen a wide adoption in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 telecom market. It is a strong ecosystem with vendors focusing on their key competency providing the freedom of choice for best-of-breed products," explained Sven Freudenfeld, CP-TA Marketing Workgroup Chair and Telecom Business Development Manager, Kontron. "Contributing to the CP-TA goals of interoperability and therefore the mainstream adoption of AdvancedTCA in the market shows our commitment to provide standards-based telecom platforms and building blocks by working closely with other members in the ecosystem."
