Continuous Computing Announces Comprehensive Trillium Femtocell Software Solution to Enable Rapid Femtocell Deployment

Integrated Systems Provider Joins The Femto Forum to Support Standardization and Widespread Adoption of Femtocell Solutions

SAN DIEGO – October 16, 2007 – Continuous Computing, global provider of integrated systems and services that enable telecom equipment manufacturers to rapidly deploy Next Generation Networks (NGN), today announced the availability of its Trillium Femtocell protocol software solution for telecom equipment manufacturers (TEMs) to rapidly develop femtocell equipment. Continuous Computing also announced that the company is a full member of The Femto Forum, an independent organization committed to supporting and increasing the standardization and adoption of femtocell technology.

Femtocells, or access point base stations, are cellular access points that connect to a mobile operator's network using residential digital subscriber line (DSL) or cable modem broadband connections in order to improve the consumer experience and, in turn, generate increased revenue for carriers and/or operators.

Continuous Computing's fully-integrated Trillium Femtocell solution consists of Trillium 3G/4G Wireless protocol software, expert Trillium Professional Services, and a wide ecosystem of hardware partners. Protocol support also includes Trillium SIP and UMTS Generic Access Network (GAN) core network interface options, among others. Trillium Femtocell software delivers optimized data and control plane performance aligned with High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) and emerging 3G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) latency and throughput requirements.

“Continuous Computing has a long-standing history of bringing wireless solutions to the market with its Trillium protocol software stacks which support 2G, 2.5G, and 3G standards and technologies, and more recently the latest 3G/4G Wireless protocol software,” said Mike Dagenais, chief executive officer at Continuous Computing. “The emerging femtocell market is a very promising growth market, and we fully support standardizing the architecture so that consumers can experience affordable pricing and convenient home deployment through plug-and-play interoperability.”

In addition to launching its new Trillium Femtocell software solution, Continuous Computing has announced its participation in the non-profit organization, The Femto Forum. The company's membership validates its expertise in femtocell network architecture and demonstrates support for the development and adoption of femtocell products and services. More information on the Trillium Femtocell software solution can be found at www.ccpu.com/products/trillium/femtocell.html

Trillium Diameter protocol software is a standards-based implementation of the Diameter protocol that includes support for all Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), 3GPP2, and European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) Telecommunications and Internet converged Services and Protocols for Advanced Networking (TISPAN) IMS interfaces. In addition, the Trillium Diameter solution is a comprehensive software package comprised of the core protocol stack supported by an innovative set of development tools that simplify and accelerate development. As a result, Trillium Diameter software facilitates accelerated time-to-market, lower development costs, and reduced project risk and complexity. Trillium Diameter is based on the consistent TAPA (Trillium Advanced Portability Architecture) foundation to ease integration, along with modular design and simple interfaces, which can be ported easily into any environment under any operating system.

“Continuous Computing's pedigree in wireless protocol software makes it a valuable addition to The Femto Forum,” said Simon Saunders, chairperson of The Femto Forum. “As a member of The Femto Forum, Continuous Computing joins other femtocell equipment vendors and mobile operators committed to promoting femtocell development and deployment.”

Continuous Computing recently participated in The Femto Forum's Annual General Meeting in Boston , Mass. , among other working group meetings. The company has a strong history of supporting the advancement of global telecommunications standards through its participation in global standards bodies. In addition to The Femto Forum, Continuous Computing is also a member of the Intel Communications Alliance Communications Platforms Trade Association, Service Availability Form, IMS Forum, and Blade.org ecosystem.

About The Femto Forum
Femtocells are cellular access points that connect to a mobile operator's network using residential DSL or cable broadband connections. The Femto Forum ( www.femtoforum.org ) has been set up to promote the wide-scale adoption of femtocells. The Forum will support and drive the adoption of industry-wide standards and common architectures to enable the widespread adoption & deployment of femtocells by operators around the world. It will direct and implement a multi-faceted marketing campaign to raise the profile, drive technology development & deployment, and to promote the potential of femto solutions among industry stakeholders, journalists, analysts, regulators, special interest groups, standards bodies, and consumers.
