Continuous Computing Announces ETSI and IETF Compliance for Trillium Stream Control Transport Protocol (SCTP) Software

Company Successfully Participates in 9th SCTP Interoperability Test Event in Japan

SAN DIEGO, CA – September 5, 2007 – Continuous Computing, global provider of integrated systems and services that enable telecom equipment manufacturers to rapidly deploy Next Generation Networks (NGN), today announced that the company has successfully tested its Trillium Stream Control Transport Protocol (SCTP) software for compliance with European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standards at the 9th SCTP Interoperability test event at Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan on August 19-25, 2007. SCTP is the transport protocol specified in all NGN architectures, including IP Multimedia Subsystem ( IMS). This success further validates Continuous Computing's Trillium “NGN-Ready” product line as the best choice for IMS and Voice over IP (VoIP) network equipment.

“In order to provide the necessary quality of service in today's ever-changing telecommunications landscape, Continuous Computing's customers must have a solid architecture to ensure first-rate deployment and delivery of services to end users,” said Mike Coward, Continuous Computing's chief technology officer and co-founder. “With Continuous Computing at the core of the network, compliance testing, such as the event in Kyoto, enables us to make certain that we are providing the best possible standard of service to our customers.”

At the Kyoto event, Continuous Computing successfully tested the interoperability of its Trillium SCTP software, with a focus on verifying RFC 4460 and IPv6 support. The annual SCTP Interoperability event provides a forum to test software implementations and interoperability and discuss these implementations with peers and experts. The event's results validate that Continuous Computing's SCTP software is IETF and ETSI standards compliant, adding necessary support for European networks and customer requirements.

In addition to its newly verified standards compliance, Continuous Computing's Trillium SCTP software recently underwent a series of performance-optimizing upgrades. As a result, the updated Trillium SCTP software offers superior security and reliability of transport services. Continuous Computing's longstanding dedication to standards compliance and performance upgrades builds upon the strong foundation of Trillium SCTP, the core of the first-to-market Trillium SIGTRAN protocol software. The upgrades serve to improve the underpinnings of NGN applications such as multimedia messaging, mobile music sharing and fixed-mobile convergence. The upgrades to Trillium SCTP, in conjunction with seamless integration between the product and Trillium SIP, Diameter, Gateway Control Protocol (H.248/MEGACO/MGCP), and SIGTRAN User Adaptation layers, provide a complete suite of protocols for NGN applications. By providing application protocol services over SCTP transport, customers are able to support key transport layer requirements in NGN deployments such as multi-homing, message-based delivery, data transmission path selection and secure, and reliable transport.
