Continuous Computing Powers RadioFrame Networks' Pico/Femtocell 3G Wireless Base Stations

CTIA WIRELESS (ORLANDO, FLORIDA) AND SAN DIEGO – March 27, 2007 – Continuous Computing , global provider of integrated systems and services that enable telecom equipment manufacturers to rapidly deploy Next Generation Networks (NGN), today announced that RadioFrame Networks has selected an integrated bundle of Continuous Computing products and services – including Trillium Professional Services, Trillium protocol software, and fully integrated Node B system software – for the development of a high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) enabled 3G Node B picocell base station. RadioFrame Networks is a leader in IP-based picocell and femtocell solutions for the mobile and wireless marketplace.
RadioFrame Networks turned to Continuous Computing for its expertise in “NGN-Ready” Trillium protocol software stacks and its ability to provide onsite and offsite telecom infrastructure consulting to assist RadioFrame in the development of picocell and femtocell base stations. Picocells and femtocells provide excellent alternatives to increase and improve coverage indoors where cellular signals may be low or absent. Extended coverage is achieved by using broadband or digital subscriber line (DSL) connections to connect from the subscriber site to the carrier's network.

RadioFrame Networks' Node B System includes the integration of several Continuous Computing protocol software stacks, including Medium Access Control – Broadcast (MAC-B), 3GPP Framing Protocol (FP), Medium Access Control – High speed (MAC-Hs), Stream Control Transport Protocol (SCTP), and User Datagram Protocol (UDP) Transport protocols. The use of these software protocol stacks, combined with the onsite / offsite expertise of Trillium Professional Services, sped up the completion of RadioFrame Networks' 3G Node B picocell base station project.
