Carrius Technologies Selects Continuous Computing's IS-41/IS-826 Protocol Stack for Its Integrated Gateway Product Family
Pre-Integrated Trillium Package Yields Complete Signaling Platform for Easy Manageability
SAN JOSE, CA AND SAN DIEGO - MARCH 8, 2005 - Continuous Computing Corporation, global provider of high availability platform solutions that enable telecom equipment manufacturers to rapidly deploy converged communications, today announced that Carrius Technologies has selected the company's IS-41/IS-826 protocol stack to expand its product offerings into the wireless network market.
Carrius, a next-generation telecom equipment manufacturer, had previously selected and incorporated Trillium SS7 ISUP, TCAP, MTP, SCCP and H.323 protocols from Continuous Computing into its Compleat family of gateway and switching products. Carrius chose Continuous Computing's protocol stacks and Distributed Fault Tolerance and High Availability (DFT/HA) architecture through a rigorous selection process initiated after identifying a market need for an integrated gateway capable of supporting enhanced services in converged wireline, wireless, circuit and packet networks.
"Many next-generation telecom equipment manufacturers face strict time-to-market pressures and therefore need to power their products on field-proven, high-performance protocol technology with demonstrated interoperability," said Neeraj Patel, Continuous Computing director of product management. "It's the perfect solution for manufacturers who want all the best technical components while also having to deal with only one platform vendor for easy manageability."
"Our past experience with Continuous Computing's highly scalable and reliable solutions gave us great confidence in our choice," said Jim Bunch, Carrius vice president of engineering. "Our internal protocol bridge is a critical market differentiator for our Compleat family of products. Continuous Computing's pre-integrated solutions - coupled with the ability to support active-standby and active-active node configurations using DFT/HA architecture - have helped us reduce project risk and accelerate product rollout."
About Carrius Technologies, Inc.
Carrius Technologies is an innovator in carrier-grade intelligent VoIP switching and gateway solutions. The Compleat platform enables new cost-effective IP-based services. As an enhanced services platform controlled through SIP or the Carrius API, Compleat allows solution developers to focus on differentiating their services while Compleat manages telephony functions such as signaling, media termination, call control and redundancy. Service providers may also leverage this same combination of capabilities to deploy Compleat as an intelligent standalone gateway. For more information, please visit www.carriustech.com
