IPWireless Selects Trillium WCDMA Software from Continuous Computing for Node B and RNC Applications

Trillium 3G Wireless Protocol Technology Available for Radio and Core Network

CANNES, FRANCE AND SAN DIEGO - FEBRUARY 14, 2005 - Continuous Computing Corporation, global provider of high availability platform solutions that enable telecom equipment manufacturers to rapidly deploy converged communications, today announced that IPWireless has selected the company's Trillium WCDMA third generation (3G) wireless protocol software to deliver its UMTS TDD 3G network solutions. IPWireless is utilizing these building blocks from Continuous Computing to advance the global adoption of IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS) and accelerate 3G deployment.

The rollout of IMS, which allows mobile and fixed devices to establish an Internet Protocol (IP) connection, is expected to provide unparalleled flexibility in mobile data delivery. IMS technology for 3G networks enables a variety of interactive applications including the ability to launch voice calls from an instant messaging session as well as high speed data transfers and multimedia conferencing. Trillium 3G WCDMA components from Continuous Computing empower wireless equipment manufacturers, such as IPWireless, to offer highly scalable broadband solutions for global deployment by carriers.

"IPWireless offers advanced standards-based broadband wireless technology to enable communications between mobile subscribers," said Malcolm Gordon, IPWireless vice president of product management. "With UMTS TDD 3G commercial deployments and trials occurring worldwide, it is imperative that we rely on cutting edge technology providers like Continuous Computing to help us get to market quickly. Our Node B and radio network controller (RNC) core infrastructure products are powered by Trillium 3G wireless protocols, and we have been impressed with the performance, reliability and support these solutions bring."

According to Neeraj Patel, Continuous Computing director of product management, "The convergence of IMS and 3G networks presents exciting opportunities for our customers to deploy newer applications. IPWireless is an important customer of Continuous Computing, and they can now deploy their solutions globally with our Trillium protocol software."

The Trillium 3G protocol stacks offered by Continuous Computing are available for multiple applications such as Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN), Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN), Wireless Media Gateway, RNC and Node B. Trillium wireless software offers advanced functionality, reliability, scalability and regular updates critical for constantly evolving standards. The product set includes a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for GSM, GPRS, TD-SCDMA, 3G and IMS network standards from Release 98 through the latest Release 5 and Release 6, which enable delivery and deployment of converged network functionality.

Additional information about Continuous Computing and its complete line of high availability platform solutions is available at the company's exhibit (Hall 2, Booth D4) at the 3GSM trade show located at the Palais des Festival in Cannes, France from February 14-17, 2005. The company's exhibit includes an interactive 3G IMS demonstration using AdvancedTCA systems and Trillium protocol software.
