Continuous Computing Expands Asia Pacific Presence Into China

New Shanghai Office to Better Serve Local Customers in the VoIP and 3G Wireless Markets

SHANGHAI, CHINA - August 3, 2004 - Continuous Computing, the leading supplier of high availability Network Service-Ready Platform solutions for telecom equipment manufacturers, today dramatically enhanced the company's footprint in the Asia Pacific region with the official opening of its Shanghai office.

As the company's fourth office in the Asia Pacific Region, the Shanghai office will drive Continuous Computing's penetration strategy for China's burgeoning telecom market. The company will focus on strengthening its relationship with existing customers in China's rapidly growing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and 3G Wireless markets, as well as serving as a liaison for additional sales opportunities with distribution partner Tekview Technologies Co, Ltd.

"We're very excited about the increased opportunities our presence in China will provide us," said Ken Kalb, chief executive officer of Continuous Computing. "China is emerging as one of the top telecom markets in the world, making our Shanghai office a key addition to our global growth strategy. Our primary efforts in China will focus on aggressively expanding our level of activity and partner support while demonstrating our leadership in the high-growth Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and 3G Wireless markets. The Shanghai office augments the successful distribution partnership that we have had with Tekview since early 2003."

"Continuous Computing's dedication to the Chinese telecom infrastructure market demonstrates the company's forward-looking vision, commitment to the region, and willingness to invest in long-term growth," said Ma Limin, deputy general manager of Tekview. "There is no substitute for local presence and local market knowledge, and we are pleased to be Continuous Computing's partner in addressing the many opportunities available in the region."

Continuous Computing first began building its Asia Pacific presence with the opening of regional headquarters in Seoul, Korea in February 2003 under the supervision of Hong Ma, the company's regional general manager for Asia Pacific. The company made further investments in the region with the opening of a Tokyo, Japan office in November 2003 and a Bangalore, India development center in July 2004. The Shanghai office will be overseen by country director Yettie Chen.

"Yettie's proven record, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of China's telecom industry will be integral to our success and growth in China," said Mr. Hong Ma. "He has the expertise and experience in the local markets to successfully facilitate our core emphasis of strengthening our existing customer relationships and laying the groundwork for new relationships in the industry."

Mr. Chen recently rejoined Continuous Computing after serving as an Intel Corporation market development manager for the Chinese and Korean markets. Previously he was a field engineer for Trillium Digital Systems in China, and before that a Shanghai Bell product manager for access and routing products.
