Continuous Computing Expands Asia Pacific Business Operations
New Office in Japan to Support International Business Development Initiatives and Strengthen Regional Customer Support Program
SAN DIEGO, CA - November 18, 2003 - Continuous Computing Corporation (CCPU), the leading provider of Application-Ready Platforms for telecom equipment companies, today announced the opening of its new regional office in Japan. The expansion will support the company's international business development initiatives, enhance technology research activities, promote marketing efforts and provide regional customer support to CCPU's customer base in Japan. The deregulation of local telecommunication companies and burgeoning international trade has created a market for new business opportunities and has also served as a driver for upgrading and modernizing the communications infrastructure, both in the backbone as well as in the access. Japan, particularly has been at the leading edge of Voice over IP (VoIP) and 3G Wireless technology adoption.
"The Asia Pacific region is emerging as a hotbed for next-generation technology innovation, and to be a leader in this market space, a company must have a strong presence in the region," said Ken Kalb, Continuous Computing chief executive officer. " Our expansion into Japan will further cement our commitment to the region, and allow us to work more closely with our customers". CCPU opened its first regional office in the Asia-Pacific region with the establishment of its regional headquarters in Seoul, Korea, early 2003. The acquisition of the Trillium technology from Intel enhanced CCPU's presence and customer base in the region, building upon the local customer relationships developed by the Trillium team across Korea, China and Japan. The local office in Japan will be a strong addition to the established customer relationships.
By strengthening its presence in the Asia Pacific region, CCPU is poised to quickly address the time-to-market requirements of local and international communications equipment manufacturers by providing standards-based communications solutions that accelerate the deployment of 3G wireless, VoIP, Intelligent Networks (IN) and OAM&P network equipment. Continuous Computing Japan KK (CCJK) is a local wholly owned subsidiary of Continuous Computing Corporation and was incorporated on October 20, 2003.
