The 40G-enabled FlexChassis ATCA-SH6x series (the SH61 and SH63) enables Network Equipment Providers (NEPs) to cost-effectively scale edge application product lines to meet stringent size, availability and cost parameters.

Easy to deploy and maintain, the SH6x’s 40G-enabled fabric interface supports 10-40G capacity-type Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions for fixed, mobile and enterprise networks. Example applications include: network security, QoS, tiered services, traffic engineering, admission and authentication and session-based billing.

The 40G 6-slot chassis comes in two varieties. An entry-level version, the SH61, meets CP-TA B4 thermal requirements and enables network equipment providers to ramp up as more complex DPI applications continue to evolve. To support larger and faster packet processing technology required to manage the growing traffic on the networks, the SH63 features higher-capacity fan trays to far exceed CP-TA B.4 thermal requirements for improved airflow distribution during fan failure or fan tray removal scenarios.

Both thermal variants of the SH6x platform support either AC or DC power options without the need of adding a stand-alone 1U AC module. This combined support gives NEPs the flexibility to seamlessly meet customer orders while limiting inventory and other costs associated with managing large pieces of equipment.

Ensuring “five nines” availability, the SH6x features redundant power, shelf management and cooling. All shelf assemblies are designed using Field-Replaceable Units (FRUs).

When integrated with Continuous Computing’s FlexCore, FlexPacket, FlexCompute and optimized with Trillium control/data plane protocol software plus professional services, the FlexChassis ATCA-SH6x empowers NEPs to deploy ATCA in high-volume, space-constrained environments.
